it will be a while. I got the carb back on, it fires up with a key now. Still need to bolt the tranny to crossmember, wire cd player, change oil, get radiator support bushings, and the main thing is exshaust.

Just got news today that my cousin and his wife are splitting and hes moving out. Being its his garage im doing the work in, and his wife really does not like me, im in the process of finding a place to store the truck untill me and my fiance finally close on this house were looking at with a garage. Hopefully it will get done this summer.

Re: 70 gmc

Ouch! I hate when that happens. I had a '73 Plymouth Satellite that I had to pull the vinyl top off of to the fix the rust under it and then my buddy and his woman split so I had to move it out of his garage with no top!! Sucked.

Well, goodluck and keep us posted on the new house!

Re: 70 gmc

Its original as far as i know. It was on my truck when i bought it, and when i decided i wanted a smooth no letter tailgate i sold it to a guy in town for 150.00 and never got around to ordering mines. Then a few months ago he sold his truck and sold me the tailgate for 40.00 so i feel like i came out ahead on the deal.

Re: 70 gmc

Also i got my exshaust ran today, sounds awesome and i have never seen a system like it on any of these trucks. Ill say this its very close to my old mans 75 corvette exshaust system.

Re: 70 gmc

Ok guys heres some pics of my exshast. I feel like it pretty different and it sounds pretty good IMO. The shop was kinda worried about how i wanted it ran with the 3 inch pipe, so i purposed to them we run it like factory corvettes and run the pipe under the axle like my 75 corvette. It turned out great, i can get all four flat tires and still not hit any exshaust.

I really have never seen a truck ran this way, but i could be wrong, it would not be the first time.

Pic of the muffler placement

Diff pic

Can you say full length headers and no ground clearence issues?

Rear view

And the video i know exshaust pics are worthless without video.

Re: 70 gmc

Well guys its been awhile and not much done to the truck. Only been driving it once a month or so and not tinkering on it to much. Then i got the itch and ordered some new wheels.

converting it over to 5 lug and running boss 338s

I know there is alot of controversy about these wheels and how they fit, I dont know if boss fixed the problem, but mine fit on stock 72 rotors with out any modifications whats so ever.

Waiting on my new axles to put on the rears.
