Height of stock front spring?

I just ordered some drop springs for my truck and I want to make sure the drop is where I think it is before I pull the others out.

Does anyone know the height measurement of a stock unsprung front coil spring ? I just want to compare the stock measurement to my drop spring. I am 99% sure it's a 2" and the Hotchkis site says 2". I called them and confirmed before I bought them of course ..

I'm just paranoid because If I bust the ball joints apart and the springs are incorrect I won't be happy. One of the websites mention a 4" drop spring but I just don't see how it's possible to drop 4" on stock LCAs? I'm pretty sure they're 2". I bought them as a kit.

I'm almost positive they're 2" up front, but some sites say 4" ? I think I'm going with the Hotchkis info. Prob answered my own question. .. Sorry.

Re: Height of stock front spring?

I don't think you can compare your drop springs to stock springs by just measuring the "unsprung" height.
There are too many varibles.
(spring diameter and spring rate)

I know when my blazer was still static dropped, I pulled the front 2" ECE drop springs out.
I also had a set of 3" Ground Force drop springs from Summit Racing.
The 2" drop springs were slightly shorter than the 3" drop springs.
I couldn't believe it.
I use to have a picture of them laying side-by-side,... but I can't find it now.

Re: Height of stock front spring?

Makes sense. .. I had some issues with 3" drop CPP spring on that blue stepper too .. I'm just going to go with the info from the Hotchkis site. I think they're 2". I was just second guesisng myself. A little late now because they're in the living room!
