Who makes the best rubber floor matt?

I am new to the Square game and don't knwo who makes the best products yet and in order to avoid buying twice I thought I would ask. I pulled the seat and what was left of the floor matt out today and washed the floor and I want to go back with an original style rubber floor matt. Factory painted floors are so sweet.

I would like to see some pics of whats out there. I wish the guy that thought of putting carpet in a truck would have stuck to driving cars too.

Re: Who makes the best rubber floor matt?

If you don't install the factory insulation or similar padding you will have a very hot floor over the transmission hump. I had the floor of my 76 sprayed with rhinoliner and it was very hot - bad mistake.
If you go with carpet but use Huskyliners and cover the hump with some other vinyl material you will have the best result.
If you don't cover the floor it will be very slippery when wet.
The factory vinyl floor mat was actually very thin and wore out quickly, but it does fit well. Thicker aftermarket full factory-like vinyl mats don't lie down very well.

Re: Who makes the best rubber floor matt?

Yea I bought the "molded"(yea right) vinyl floor mat for my truck from lmc. That thing was a joke. Was way to big and after trimming it it fit so bad I put the old carpet back in and threw $100 in the garbage. I am still looking for an original floor mat for my truck.

Re: Who makes the best rubber floor matt?

So, if my set up does not offend, I used Walmart black exercise mat over the transmission hump and over the exposed areas of the floor under the seat, then put in the Huskyliners. The Huskyliners trap the dirt because the edges are turned up slightly. I would still cover that padding with something - in your case the OEM mat would be OK if you put that over the padding and put the Huskyliners and exercise mat over the top. However, I think good quality OEM carpet would be a better choice - Huskyliners and exercise mat would keep it like new forever and you would never have to vacuum it.

Re: Who makes the best rubber floor matt?

Would you believe while in the bone yard today, I happened across a practically perfect factory rubber floor matt, the only reason I use pratically is because there is a couple of rust stains I couldn't scrubb out. I have tried CLR or anything like that yet. Not even any wear under the pedals, how lucky can I get?? A little elbow grease and an hour or so and here is the outcome. $9.95, whata ya think???
