Order of dash assembly

It's been awhile since I've had everything under the dash apart and back together now currently I have a bare dash. It is an A/C cab with guages. I do have an assembly manual. What is the most efficient order to replace everything? I'm thinking A/C boxes first, then wiring and vacuum / wiper hoses, then A/C cables, then A/C and heater ducts then gauge cluster then steering column?

Any advice to make this less of a PITA?

Only thing I can tell you is install the dash pad first if it is out...

These are both staying. My truck was running and driving a few weeks ago but I vowed to make it a daily driver for which the deadline is quickly approaching. Under the dash is really just an A/C and wiring rehab, no paint or anything. Everything is out now...this is the mess I was dealing with!
