Cruise control drops out....
Driving along with the cruise engaged and holding 70mph. Went downhill slightly and the cruise dropped out. I didn't touch the brake, or so I thought. So, I re-engaged it and set it to 70mph, again. After a mile or so, same thing. By that time, I was into a 65mph speed limit and I set it again. It stayed at that speed w/o issues.
I don't think the speed had anything to do with it dropping out, but what do I know? I was thinking of vacuum or linkage issues, and I haven't yet looked for anything. I was just curious to know if anyone else has had something like it to happen.

Re: Cruise control drops out....
Don maybe the brake/cruise disconnect switch is bad. Try setting the cruise and wait for it to drop out. Reset the cruise and lift up on the brake pedal slightly with your toe and hold for a bit. If it still drops out this is not at fault.

Re: Cruise control drops out....
Jim, I reset it at 65mph, and it did fine. I don't hit the highways often enough to do some serious troubleshooting, but I'll pay attention and see what gives.

Re: Cruise control drops out....
Thanks. I'll take a look...just to be sure. It was the only thing I could think of.

Re: Cruise control drops out....
My first guess would also be that the brake switch is the cause.

Re: Cruise control drops out....
