Anyone know offhand how much space is behind the seat with the tank removed? I'm shopping for subs and wondered if I could fit a truck sub box back there. I think it's 10" at the bottom and 5" at the top. Should fit I think, but thought I'd ask.

And this is my 100th post.

If your a fat ass grandfather like me .....not much room once the seat is all the way back

Then again I dont think I need sub woofers to listen to CCR

This is probably way too involved for most cases but has anyone tried recessing a sub behing the seat. That is, cut a hole in the back of the cab for a speaker to fit through?

I've done it on a late model for a buddy. just build a box out of sheet metal with a flange on the open end of the box facing the insde of the cab. Cut out the hole in the cab and a hole in the front bed panel. The hole in the bed panel should be about 1 inch bigger and you can use a door seal to trim it out. Weld or just bolt up the box using the flange to the inside of the cab and then fit a speaker box inside it.

You can also build your own bazuka ( how the hell do you spell bazukka, bazoka, bazzuka ?)style enclosure with a 6" 10" 12" PVC pipe with a woofer on one end and a passive on the other.

I have seen people putting them under their seat.
