Lt1 parts in vortec 350
Putting a lt4 in my camaro, the lt1 in it has 90k miles i hydrolocked it and snapped connecting rod 6, well i have all the parts from the lt1 curious what i could put into my brother vortec
I know i can use the cam from what ive researched, but i want to know if i can use roller rockers (1.5 3/8 stud) the roller lifters, lt4 valve springs(bnib) and if i need to use the pushrods (theyre hardend) And what kind of power gains / power curve would i experience and what other supporting mods would be good for this setup. Thanks for the info -Chris

Re: Lt1 parts in vortec 350
I used the cam from the Ramjet 350 which has better numbers than the LT1 cam and didn't notice a thing. And I had previously changed springs and rockers and the engine did not like that at all. After the rebuild is when I put the truck cam in.
I do recommend that the injectors be changed in the L31. The originals are garbage. Get the new style available under several brand names actually made by Standard. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SMP-FJ504 I also rec. cold air intake, headers and cat back. Cut down the baffle on the TB butterfly. With those mods alone, you will get the best bang for the buck. |
