The most expensive 305 V6 to date!
Check out this ad:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-GMC-305...ht_2331wt_1139 Pretty funny and overpriced for a rusty rebuild of a short block that most people do not want or know what it is. Take a 1 off of the beginning and I would think about it.

Re: The most expensive 305 V6 to date!
Wow I guess they've really appreciated over the last few years. I couldn't find any takers for my running engine for free. We had to take it apart just to get the weight down to manageable pieces so we could haul it to the dumps!

Bugs in cylinder bore boost horsepower by atleast 50, rusty deck surface also adds roughly 5 compression points, what a steal!

Re: The most expensive 305 V6 to date!
Well... Some people have no idea what a part is worth so they start high and work their way down. Maybe someone who desires to keep their truck stock would want this engine but I agree it's seems a bit over priced.
Ok.... Which one of you guys are going to buy it Posted via Mobile Device

Another one from the school of Old+odd=worth alot of money!
Got several "collectors" around this area of the country that think "well it's old, so it's got to be worth alot". We can all thank the reality shows for this concept. |

Re: The most expensive 305 V6 to date!
He didn't have rare on the description....haha. Seems to be a lot of rust in the cylinder walls and the head decks to have been rebuilt by a reputable shop. What you didnt see is that he listed the heads for another $1000.

Re: The most expensive 305 V6 to date!
There was one on CL a while back for $250 complete, he ran the ad for well over six weeks....then dropped to $150, still never sold.
