Re: How to connect auto column shift linkage??
OK, I'll start. Red part bolts onto trans shift rod with nut that I don't see in your picture. Larger rusty part bolts to frame. Rod with slip on union/bolt goes to the column shifter lever. The black part has a hole in one side that goes over the rod on the frame mounted part, the opposite side mates up to the red part, the black part is held in place onto the frame part by the spring, washer and cotter pin in the picture.

Re: How to connect auto column shift linkage??
The rod connect at the column end is straight forward. Place trans linkage in park, inside shift lever in park and attach the linkage rod to the lower column lever, tighten down the setscrew.

Re: How to connect auto column shift linkage??
Anyone have a pic? I can't figure out how the other end connects. Just a picture would help? Not sure if the column I have is a floor or column shift

Re: How to connect auto column shift linkage??
This is my column:
It looks like the rod should connect through those 2 linkage brackets on the column but the angle doesn't seem right. Something I am missing? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: How to connect auto column shift linkage??
its the same shape of our columns, I cant judge that pic 'cuz is incomplete. If you need more pics just Type AUTO COLUMN SHIFT LINKAGE in the upper right box then click in 67-72chevytrucks.com spot(circle) and the GOOGLE button

Re: How to connect auto column shift linkage??
That second pic looks like there are 2 levers on the lower end of the column. If so it's a standard shift column. Only 1 lever for an automatic.
