Cooling help needed

My 350ci 1991 burb is running at 210 or a lil over. Its always run cooler, like 180 or so. It gets so hot that its uncomfortable to stand in front of it. Its got a new 190* thermostat, 454 radiator, 7 blade fan with clutch, and fresh cooolant. What am I doing wrong??? The water pump isnt leaking out water.

Air in system? Is the rad cap new also, rule is to put on a new one when you flush/refill coolant.

Re: Cooling help needed

I used to be a gm tech.all those tbi engines run around 210 -215. Especially in the summer.the t stat just opens earlier it won't change how the cooling system cools the engine.if its supposed to be 210 then it will run 210.(which it is because that's how the ECM wants it to be for the best mixture.any cooler it'll just run richer because it thinks the engine is still warming up.) the vette's of that era ran about 220 .the fans didnt kick on till 235!but they had aluminum heads.is it the original tbi engine?

Re: Cooling help needed

It is the original engine. I replaced the water pump many years ago. I put the cap on used off another truck. I will get a new one.
