Stupid Question
Okay I know this is a 100% stupid question, but how do you remove the window levers for manual windows? I have fought with mine and I don't want to break anything by doing it wrong.

Re: Stupid Question
Gotta take the Jesus clip off and it slides right off. It is called a Jesus clip because when you slip the tool in the clip goes flying and you'll yell "Jesus where did that go".
I'm dead certain 100's will affirm this. Any parts store will sell one of those and they are just a few bucks. You slip the tool in behind the crank to pop the clip out. Align the tool handle with the crank handle. It will go between the crank and the crank washer (if you still have the washer). The picture here is not how it normally is, I have always had to slip the tool in while it is lined up with the crank handle, not away from it. Might help if you google image, window crank removal tool. Lots of pictures.

No stupid questions on this Board. Ask away, that's how you learn.
RandyP, your reply still has me doubled-over in laughter!

Re: Stupid Question
Haha yeah, it seems so simple like there should be nothing to it.

Re: Stupid Question
Ask any body man or service tech what a "jesus clip" is and they'll laugh and tell you and show you the tool. I swear.
Heck, google image "jesus clip removal tool", you'll see!

Re: Stupid Question
Or,you can wrap a shop rag around it for the same result!
Work it back and forth like shining a shoe and the clip will leave! The rag may catch it if you're lucky. Mike./ |

Re: Stupid Question
With the window crank in your hand, slip the clip back on the window crank.
Now push the window crank back onto the door panel and it just snaps back on.

Re: Stupid Question
I keep a small pack of clips in my shop to spare me the frustration of losing them. For a couple bucks you can own a lifetime supply. The hard part is remembering to buy them when you don't need them. lol

Re: Stupid Question
Best way to do it, imo. Works great at the junkyard. Most body shop guys I have met use this method as well.
