I prefer swb fleetside trucks. Only thing is short fleet beds are getting harder and harder to find for a good price because it seems like they are the most desireable. So if you find a good one you better buy it cause they dissipear quick. There are tons of nice long beds on craigslist here. So many that they dont sell unless they are dirt cheap

Seems like everytime someone finds out I have a 72 Chevy pickup, the first question they ask is if it is long or short.

I like them both, I have a 68 LWB, and a 64 SWB both fleetsides and both ride great with coil spring suspension. Its all preference.

Who says you can't one of each!!!!! LOL! I bought a LWB. Decided I was gonna make it a SWB...... then bought a SWB frame..... Now I plan to build BOTH!!!!! Oh the agony!!!!

Given those parameters, either bed will suit you fine. My preference will always be long. Better ride and look, and more hauling capacity.
