That's way too cheap around here 5k up for something like that.

Look at the first interior pic. It looks like the pinch weld for the weatherstripping at the rocker panel is rotted off and painted over. It has fresh paint, but there is nothing there. Also, shouldn't a dually have had clearance lights? I thought it was a federal regulation. I know lots of people shave them, but I'm thinking cab swap or something. I'd look further into it. Still a cool truck though, much cleaner than most around here. If I were into 2wd's I'd look at it for that price.

1) That's a good point---i did notice the rocker panel in the fifth picture but i didn't want to say anything because i don't know anything about bodywork; Do they mean no ORIGINAL rust? Or do they mean no more rust? As in we fixed all the rust that was there?

2) Another good point---i think the rule is if the GVWR is 8600lbs or more you have to have the 3 id lights in the middle and the 2 outside clearance lights. And/or if you are wider than 78" or something like that.

3) We are looking at 10-11 mpg tops? If it's a true 1-ton than the highest diff gear possible is 3.21?

My verdict------it doesn't set me on fire excitement-wise.

Re: 77 single cab dually on cl, looks like a steal.

The small block turns me off. Neat truck though.

As far as the gearing I don't think you could go as high (numerically low) as what you are asking of C-10

My 79 1 ton has 3.73's. 3.42's are made for the 14 bolt FF and 3.54's are made for the dana, depending on what it has, but I'm not sure too many 1 tons would come with that since they were built to haul/tow. I wouldn't want anything less than 3.73's for a 1 ton that's meant for towing.

Thats high priced around here in Texas. Not really that nice of truck. Drivers rocker area does not look good at all.

I'm still looking for one these to pull my trailer. Ive seen a few but they have 350's in them. I just never understood why they would make a dually with a 350... The 350/400 kinda makes it a c10/20 with 4 rear wheels IMO.

Funny, I feel the exact same way. To me the 1 tons are the ulitmate truck for towing with, and a 350 engine just looks out of place. May as well buy a 1/2 ton cruiser truck.

Usually you'll find a 1 ton 350 with a manual trans behind it and probably a really steep rear gear. I guess it would tow "okay" but it just doesn't compare to a BBC powered truck.

I'd hate to hit some of the hills around AZ pulling my 10,000 lbs. trailer with only a 350
