Is the plastic cover on the base of the mirror brown or black? It's hard to tell in the pics.

that mirror came out of the 70 truck i am pating all the trim is black the mirror cover is black on the out side and tan on the in side when i removed it seened like it was never removed before ???? does not look to be spray died
