Re: Question on disc conversion

No. Your stock spindle is for drums only. You will need to change it if switching to discs. As far as stock 6 lug rotors i believe 88-98?? Will work with the corresponding parts (spindle, ball joints). What i did was switch my front crossmember,73-87, added drop spindles and aftermarket 6 lug 1.25 thick rotors.

Re: Question on disc conversion

CB1965 knows more than I do, and I agree with him.

If you're looking to go 6 lug with discs, I did a write up in my build thread vetting several ways to accomplish this. It might give you an idea of the magnitude of work involved here. I am currently in the process of doing this, so if you have questions, PM me.

Check post #215.

Re: Question on disc conversion

What's your reason for running a 6-lug wheel up front?
Stock pre-71 steel wheels won't work with disc brakes.

Re: Question on disc conversion

Pretty much everything you need to know about front disc conversions is discussed in this thread.

Even the 2 types of 6 lug front disc conversions.
