Which radiator to get?
Trying to buy a radiator as well as my fans for the 72 and having problems with this too. What radiator is needed for an aluminum headed BBC naturally aspirated which makes over 600 HP. The truck has AC and it will be driven in traffic, in the middle of the summer, raced occasionally. I hate overheating problems more than anything in the world. Almost all radiators I have looked at are only good up to 600 HP. Been looking on the Griffin website and they have this Extreme Cool aluminum one with two 1.5 inch tubes rated up to 800 HP. But is is 700 dollars!!! Is this what is necessary? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
Here is the link to the radiator: http://www.griffinrad.com/index.cfm

Re: Which radiator to get?
I had a Griffin in the blue Luv and it had epoxy sealing the tube to the end sheet . It worked good , but it was not weld repairable . I believe mine is an AFCO and it is all welded .
Nice avatar I go all the way back to 97 Rocks .

Re: Which radiator to get?
I had a 550.00 dollar Be-Cool in my cj-5 with a 383 and stock fan and it always ran hot. pulled the engine driven fan off and installed a good electric and it made a world of difference. I will be using a 1 inch tube aluminum with 2 electric fans pulling almost 4000 cfm on my 511 BB. I used the same radiator on my 454 with stock fan and worked great. I think the fan set-up is just as important as the radiator
