2.5" lift is on
Ok I have my 2.5" Skyjacker lift installed and new shocks and have a question.
I installed a 2" drop pitman arm and i made sure it went back on in the same spot as the old one came off and when i went to pull out of the shop it would only turn to the right fully to the left it would only turn alittle over half way. Well i adjusted the drag link to make the distance between the pitman arm and the arm that comes off the knuckle shorter and got most of the turning back but its still not even and i cant get the drag link any shorter unless i cut it shorter. Any reason its like this.? what did i do wrong you think, should i put the stock pitman arm back on. It does ride alot nicer then it did before thats for sure. pix of it now, it needs bigger tires for sure and it sets 2" higher in the front then it does in the rear now it would take 4" blocks in the rear to level it out .. ![]() before the lift. ![]() after ![]() ![]() Last edited by 69GWC; 06-30-2012 at 04:04 PM. |

Hey Garret, I think it looks much better..great stance! it sounds like you just need to center everything back up again..heres a link to where I explained it before. If you have any trouble give me a call. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...enter+steering

Re: 2.5" lift is on
And there have been a few times I've had to cut some off the end of one of the drag links...just dont over do it and its better to take a little off of both instead of a lot off one.

Re: 2.5" lift is on
Unless I find something i like better these are the wheels Iam going with, Iam thinking 15/10s but am worried they will stick out to far on the front. The ones iam looking at show 3-5/8s back spaceing.
But 33/12.50s all seem to say 15/8s are not wide enough of a wheel. ![]() |

Re: 2.5" lift is on
8" wide wheel and a 12.5" wide tire is perfect IMO. it just changes the looks but doesnt affect the footprint as much as the internet leads you to believe.
do you want your tires to look tall and thin? 8" tall and fat 10" short and real fat 12" the width of the wheel plays a huge role, although subtle, in overall apearance. |

Re: 2.5" lift is on
Yeah that's my issuse , I think I will end up with 10s for the look, I have been out side with the tape and I think they will only stick out in the front anit a 1.5" or so which I can deal with.
Wish I knew if 35s would fit as I found a full set for 250$ BFGs ATs . Posted via Mobile Device |

Looks good. I like the badging "sleeper" approach
![]() Kidding aside, what size are the tires on it now? |

Re: 2.5" lift is on
It has 31/10.50s on it now and at full turn they are 4.5" from the finder and 6" from the finder setting straight, just a lot of room around them .
Guess if nothing else the 33s should not ever rub. If you mean the C10 badge Iam going to see if a K10 badge will fit in its place, and maybe get one for the other side as well.. Posted via Mobile Device |

What exactly is a "zero rate"? Is it the same as an add a leaf? Does it give you extra height without adding stiffness to the spring pack? |

Re: 2.5" lift is on
thats exactly what it does. it is an add a leaf that adds zero to the spring rate. its a one inch thick chunk of steel brick that bolts to the spring pack by the centering pin. it also offers the ability to adjust your wheelbase in 1 and 1.5 inches.

Re: 2.5" lift is on
Looks good I think its gonna be pretty sweet when you get new rims and tires on it. Keep up the good work.

Re: 2.5" lift is on
Well, its getting a new front diff so it will have disc brakes, new master cylinder and power booster,
I have a new dual plan intake, a Holley 570 carb, hot jet coated headers, 7 quart pan andd new pump, Windows tinted, radio/sound system, bed rail caps, sound reading under the floor mat oh and the one thing I did not want to mess with the TC this 221 is basicly done so Iam on the lookout for a 205 I guess. To much stuff I guess..lol Posted via Mobile Device |
