Rallies inside out

Just curious as to if anyone has turned their rallies inside out... Would the brakes hit the wheels? I'm intrigued..

Pretty positive the brakes would rub the rims.

Re: Rallies inside out

Also not really trying to take over the thread, but how can you tell if these rallies are aftermarket or factory/oem rims.

You'd have to revise the lug nut seats by countersinking them (to add the angle cut) - if you were going to actually drive it.

Okay I was just looking at one set of rallies from my truck and around the valve stem it says 12(valve stem)13 DAB. What does that mean?

I think it means they will only function in the normal way.

Re: Rallies inside out

You couldn't even get the wheel close enough to the hub to bolt it on Backwards.

Those are date codes and broadcast codes from the wheel manufacturer.

Re: Rallies inside out

no idea but it wouldn't work. Even if you could get it on, the lip around the lug nut holes are designed to keep the lug nut from loosening. Putting it on backwards would have the opposite effect, not to mention the fact that instead of a flat surface against the hub you would have a gap because of the lips which would probably dig into it.

Re: Rallies inside out

I like threads like this. Reminds me of half my conversations with local friends..... 'wonder if we can make it work this way' - 'no ya goof. A b & c are wrong. Where'd ya come up with that idea.'

Re: Rallies inside out

I dont understand why you would even want to bolt a wheel on backwards. The back side is ugly. If your trying to get a deep dish then get a wider wheel.

Re: Rallies inside out

I only know because I thought about it myself haha. I recently bought a set of late model silverado rallies with tires because they were so cheap, but the offset was all wrong, so I thought about flipping them around, but even a quick look at it tells you that the lip around the holes that the lugs bolt to would be the only contact point with the rotors so no bueno...
