What is this box?

This box is mounted on the driver side fender well of my 74. Some of the wires are connected to the Head light harness and one red wire went into the cab and was cut and hanging. What is it?

Might be a real old universal headlight relay box. (Just a guess)

that black plug on the box looks like something a flasher would plug into.
I've seen similar things in police / fire trucks that alternate/flash the headlights for use during emergency respose, etc.. If your truck wasnt a service truck, maybe a prior owner in the past was a voluteer fire department guy, or something?

I need to take it off and see if there is any markings on the bottom.

If it is a ''Wig-wag" System I AM SO TOTALLY HOOKING THIS THING UP!

Pulled it off today and looked for markings, Found nothing.
