Re: Roll down back window

Ive done a little thought in to a rear slider and after cutting up a cab to get masurements and some more thought Ive started to build channels and make a regulator to lift the glass
Ive got about 40hrs in to it now and its still not a working unit
the glass has been a toughy but I finaly found glass that was big enough to cut down and make fit

ok Q&A
1) yes its going to look factory (if not Ill scrap it)
2) will I take pictures yes I am but I will not post them untill the truck is done.
3)it will be electric

just so you all dont think Im being an ass for holding out on sharing with you all. but Ive been working on this truck for a long time and its getting close to start body work Ive spent lots of hours on this truck over the years to make it a one of a kind factory custom
so when its done I will share with the world

Just looked it over last weekend at a car show, this one was glass. When I seen it in the open position, I asked the owner about it (thinking it was plexiglass myself). He showed me how it worked and said it was glass, and sure looked and felt like glass to me. I know my factory back window when out of the cab seemed a little flimsy, but I would have been scared to bend it like this one was! It had the brand name painted or etched on the glass but for the life of me I can't remember what it was...he is a local guy I see often, will try to track him down and get the brand name off the window.

Re: Roll down back window

That look pretty cool but I don't know if I would like the gap at the bottom from glass to body. That's a really cool idea though.

Re: Roll down back window

I would think the works from a Suburban tailgate would do the trick nicely, as mentioned previously.

Re: Roll down back window

Unfortunately they do not make them no more and there is a few out there that have them it is rare to find and its a direct fitment no cutting or drilling what's so ever and I have one sitting in my garage

Re: Roll down back window

some clean photoshoppin skills there lol. I've always wanted to put a motorized back window in my 95 s10, even my c10 for that matter. I really enjoy the look of a clean one piece back window versus the sliders and what not... Are you going to run the motorized back window?
