I figured I would catch a lot of hell for the 2.2l 4 cylinder swap in the 65, but no its the 22s and bags that are the hot button. go figure.

I put bags on my 65 because they were given to me and alot o the things that went with them. I like the fact that when loading on a trailer I don't have to worry about scraping and if I need to go over a curb or something at a show I have no worries... Made things easier for me and cheaper... Oh yea I can drive mine aired out also... Gotta be careful but it won't leave me stranded. So basically for me it was practical to bag so I can load and unload with no issues and lay it low when it's parked because my truck is to ugly to look underneath anyway...

i think "chevyrestoguy" hit the nail on the head, & i tend to think like "Oem4me"...but i must admit that i also hate to see so many vehicles (not just our trucks) getting hacked up for bags...yet i don't mind when it's done with great quality and attention to detail & safety...i'm a big fan of customization, & most of my rides have been just that (customized)...but i will say that former member Tony "LilRed66" sorta changed my outlook...he was adamant about wanting me to restore my '66 C-10 to factory/stock...with so many these days deciding to go the slammed, bagged, or lifted route, i decided i would rather keep my truck mostly stock in appearance and suspension stance/height....at the same time, i have other plans for a future build that will consist of a slammed ride, possibly with bags

but where i draw the line is when you take automobiles like "Oem4me" has and start altering them...i think there's something to be said for a completely, truly original and untouched automobile, and i feel like it should remain as such...it's like a time capsule...just my two cents....but as they say, to each his own

I think "low mileage" originals are time capsules but I had about 300,000 miles on the original drive train, ran ok but the trans made a grinding noise and a clunk when accelerating and decelerating, all four drums needed replacing and scarey manual steering box that had serious play, posi needed rebuilding etc etc.
She won't be original anymore but it will be safe!
406ci-700r4-203/205-14blt-dana60 etc etc..
and maybe some bags in the rear for towing and heavy loads.

I may lower my truck with bags but not sure yet. This truck is my only vehicle and my last one i will own so not sure what the plans are for the height. But I really do love lowered trucks. I think bags are the best of both worlds because you can still raise it back to stock and when you want slamm it . If i do go bags I want a basic airbag drop but with heavy duty bags for loading.

Yeah, remember how many cool trucks and cars got hacked in the 80's when the pro street fad hit... they had to give them away when everyone moved on from that fad. I'll keep my truck more stock but lowered with spindles and coils so I can go back to stock when I want to later on. But, I do feel everyone should do what they want to with their own truck. But the bagger fad will pass... PS I'm an old guy, and have seen a lot of the fads come and go. Remember billet... the thought of that one still makes my skin crawl!

I'll bet a lot of painters are waiting for the "patina" fad to end as well!

well as i understand it, lowriders started in the 30's, and hydros in the late 50s, so it seems to me like the fad has been here about as long as cars and trucks themselves.

I thought i read somewhere u get 8 inches of usable bag height with the e level accuair kit.. im sure more company's. That's what a stock 92 z71 was rated at and it rides just fine.... to me i have had and still have them lifted and slammed.. I just want one of each 8) and bags r what i'm choosing on this go round.
