My thought is if you really want to drive it right now....throw the black buckets in. Although make sure to drill/cut only for the passenger style fixed mounts on both sides. (can't remember now if you went with tilt forward or fixed on the passenger side though...did you get the tilt ones?)
Another option I just thought of are 73-87 brackets. With you being tall, they sit an inch and a half taller...the disadvantage is they will sit up a hair into the rear window. the advantage is it will be a more comfortable ride since you plan to carve corners in it and drive it
And...I can give you a set of those mounts for the same price as the fixed mounts and they'd be adjustable on the driver's side and tilt forward on the passenger (I can ship those now so you could temporarily mount them to the black buckets if you want to drive it now)
