Long to short question
When you cut a long box down to a short box, what do tou do with the trailing arms? Just cut them in the middle somewhere and plate them??

Re: Long to short question
The trailing arms remain unchanged. The section of frame that is removed is ahead of trailing arm crossmember, so nothing in the suspension is modified.

Re: Long to short question
I found a flat section of frame ahead of the trailing arms and cut out the 12 inches required. Nice square cut and boxed the inside of the frame. The only other part I needed to move was the rear cab mount back 12 inches . Then 8 inches off the rear of the frame.
regards

Re: Long to short question
Like the guys before said, trailing arms and cross member stay the same. Just removed the 12 inches in the center and 8 off the back. Then move the cross member forward 12 inches. I did mine years ago, cutting the frame just behind the cab. I have hundreds of pics of the job if you need them.
