Steering Column Help!!!!!
Hey guys! Recently took my steering column apart to paint it and replace the upper bearing. It a non tilt, automatic column shift. It's in my 67 C/10, but doesn't look like it was the original column. Looks corect for those trucks, but it was from a truck that was originally like dark olive green.
The problem I'm having is when I go to put it all back together the steering wheel likes about another 1/4 - 3/8 of an inch from hitting the splines. Took it back apart and noticed the cup that holds the guts of the turnsignal stuff has three little cutouts in it, and the inner part of the column has the matching 3 tabs that this slides onto. But they don't line up my shift indicator it sits about an inch to the left. I thought it would push in and turn into place like to lock it, but it won't go in far enough. At that point it already crammed up against the Shifter collar. Confused and aggravated! .
