Buddy bucket seats

So I bought these buddy buckets. What do you guys think? Good deal? Average purchase? Spent a little on the high end? Dont be confused in the one picture the previous owner set the drivers seat on the passenger side and the passenger seat on the drivers side, that why you can see the slider handle on the passenger side. Both seats fold down forward. Sliders work great. All the console brackets are there as well as the passenger seat mounts. I bought these for $270 plus $120 shipping so total $390 to my door.

I think for 400 bones you did fine. I used to sell sets a little nicer than that in the 400 range. But lately I have seen some go for what I think is too high ... but they got sold so what do I know lol.

For having them shipped, I think you did pretty good. Especially, since they fold forward.

Okay thanks guys for putting in your thoughts. I have always wondered how come some fold forward and some don't? Anyone got an answer?

in 68 chevy started to go away from the seats (bench and buckets) folding forward, for saftey reasons (i dont find anything really un safe bout it) so the buckets the passenger one didnt fold but the driver side did to acomidate for it sliding forward or backwards. and then in 69 the bench seats didnt fold forward either.

Thanks for the input guys! I plan on buying new foam and new covers. Does anyone know if there is a huge difference in the USA made foam and the PUI foams?

In 67 both seats folded forward, in 68 this feature was eliminated. I wouldn't recommend changing the adjustment screw on the seat back that changes how far back they tilt, 40+ years has likely made the wood weak and it will strip. Ask me how I know

I bought PUI foam for mine and it's good quality and I'm happy with it but I hear the USA stuff is better. I bought enough to do both sides but actually only used the cushion from one and just built up the foam on the others. I bought PUI covers for mine and they fit pretty well but I would have custom covers made next time.

Be prepared, with foam, covers, and shipping you are easily at $1000 on top of your $400 investment and that doesn't include labor if you have someone else do the work

How do i tell if these seats are true 67 that fold forward or if they are 68 and someone has just loosened the bolt? whats the physical difference in the two? Is there a hinge style and the other a fixed with bolt?

There will be a little metal pad on the seat bottom that a bolt head contacts when the seat back is in the upright position. If you post a picture of the seat from the back with them folded forward I will tell you. The hinge itself is the same.

I also found a guy who is going to hook me up with a set of PUI seat foams for $325 shipped. And I think what I will do is head down to the local upholstery shop and see if he can get the 67 stock blue colour material and cover the seats in original style. It might be cheaper then buying the covers and getting him to install them.

I was also wondering why I have seen quite a few buddy bucket cab braces with 6 holes drilled in them and some with 3 holes drilled in them. I understand that 3 holes are for the 3 mounting screws that go into the cab but what are the other 3 holes there for?
