lots of fun replacing the valve cover gaskets
I've been sitting around home sick for a couple days, finally got restless and decided to take a 30-45 minute break from the couch and replace the valve cover gaskets on my truck. I've had the gaskets for a while and the old ones have been leaking for some time. The passenger side came off and went right back on in about 20 minutes. It took me 10 minutes just to get the drivers side off (wiggling and pulling). Got it cleaned up and ready to go. It would not go back in for anything. I began taking things off that side one at a time to no avail. It came down to the AC compressor being in the way, no way I was going to try and move that. 3 hours later and too weak to stand up I realize I could remove the lower bracket (5 bolts), leave the compressor in place, and slide it in from the side. That took all of 10 minutes. Gotta love all the junk that's in the way for a simple gasket change.

Me and Brandon are in the same boat, my compressor was locked up too. 100 degree heat and vinyl seats sure does suck though. I pulled all my a/c junk. But still have the bracket which has an idler pulley on it, so I can't rid of it. But the Hot Rod Air setup uses the same compressor that I had. So I already got the bracket. This winter i'm gonna get there underdash kit. I'm a wuss.
