back in those days we had a lot of farmers that wanted the top of the line trim package , but wanted the three on the tree instead of the auto trans. it lasted longer pulling cotton trailers to the gin...they would get several phone calls from the dealer and factory making sure the order was correct before they built it. they could not believe that any one would want the top of the line pickup with a standard trans. in it...
