Ya, it did but needed to be done.

Thinking about picking up that TopBanana Roof to windeshield panel Aero mentioned in other thread...along with front fender braces. I will use my extra '63 longbed to give up its sheetmetal for fender repair....Thoughts on Top Banana ?

Hey Chief, That upper windshield panel is a good idea..I drilled out the spot welds (88 of them) on mine and was able to clean all up in there..I got mine from Top Banana Too..Now I'm confident theres no rust up there
O yea keep scrubbing that primer I'm sure there's patina under there somewhere Burb looks Great..

haven't bought that above windshield piece, but I have bought several other pieces from Top Banana, and have had good luck. They're all KeyParts/Tri plus.

Re: My '62 GMC Suburban is on it way !!

As I pull parts, various areas will need attention. From cleaning to rust proofing to actually steel replacement ... will be done before going back together.

The immediate plan for this burban, is to do a driveable resto-job on it. Get it running right away....Then slowly perform all the need rust repairs, while still using it as it was intended.

Future plans, will include a frame swap...then a FULL resto will happen.

Also, I decided against the 4.3 Vortec swap for one reason. The engine's harness/ECM is already set up for running all the O2's and cat for my Zuk. I dont want to have it rework/reflashed for the burb, then reworked again back to smog.

So for now, unless a V8 shows up soon, I'm gonna borrow the 63's 292.

Considering how bad this was...the lower bolt actually came all the way out...even was partially sealed
