1/2 ton to 3/4 ton conversion???

Has anybody done this? I'm thinking of attempting it and just want to know what I would need? There is a front crossmember with rotors and a-arms and everything for sale around here off of an 80's model chevy that looks like a pretty good deal. Would it work??

Re: 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton conversion???

You would need the complete front and rear suspension and rear axle. I've seen a lot of them switched from 3/4 ton but haven't ever seen one switched the other way except to go 4x4.

Years ago I seriously thought about changing my 3/4 ton to a half ton and shortening the frame for a short box as that has always been my ideal truck but it works too hard for me to do that to it right now.
