Gas tank swap for '71 Burb
Hi all. I have to replace the leaky gas tank in my '71 burb, so I've been researching the options. I'd like to replace it with a larger tank such as the 31 gallon tank from 73-up, but looking at the pictures on http://justgastanks.com, the 31 gallon tank is a non-EEC tank. The '71 tank is an EEC tank and thus has all the extra fittings. Has anyone installed a non-EEC later model tank in a truck that originally had an EEC tank? Is it as simple as getting a vented gas cap to go with it? I've read that one of the lines from the EEC tank goes to the carb. My truck has an Edelbrock carb and I'm not sure that an EEC line is even hooked up to it - I'll have to take a look. Thanks in advance!

Have you checked with some of the vendors here on the board?
Many if not all are very helpful, and try to be very competitive on their pricing.

No I haven't but I'd be willing to buy from them.

I have a question. When you refer to an EEC tank, are you talking about the vapour recovery system?

Yes. They call it evaporative emissions control.
