Np205 10 spline to 4l80e
Ive read just about every forum on the face of the web and now am more confused than when I began this endless quest. I have a 10 spline np205 I'm rebuilding right now. I am going to purchase a lq9 and 4l80e in the near future.
With that being said, who has actually mated a 10 spline figure 8 np205 to a 4l80e? Which 4l80e did you use? Which adapting method did you use? I have many more questions, so if there is some one out there with this knowledge, can I pick your brain? Thanks Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Np205 10 spline to 4l80e
Get a 205 from before 1984 from behind a th400. Its a 32 spline 205. Use the 4x4 4l80. 4l80/th400 indexing ring adapter/spacer thing. Then a figure 8 th400/205 adapter, then the figure 8 32 spline 205.
Call off-road design. The 4l80 has a different bore size than the 400. Posted via Mobile Device |

So basically my 10 spline is hopeless when it comes to the 4l80e?

Re: Np205 10 spline to 4l80e
I had a slip joint newer 205 with th350 input and a 10 spline 205. I swapped inputs and now have a u joint th350 205. The case can be machined for the larger th400 bearing and 400 input would slip right in. Kinda hard to find th400 units.

Re: Np205 10 spline to 4l80e
I called off road design and they helped me out a bunch, it seems that the most straight forward way for my situation is to machine the 205 input hole out to fit a long 32 spine female shaft in there, and buy the modified th400 adapter they sell. I can get a rebuild kit, the new input spline with all the bearings, and the adapter that mates to a 4x4 4l80e all for about $600. I guess that's not too bad, I'm going go that route unless someone knows a cheaper way to go, but the ord guys know there stuff and helped me a bunch.
