Drive shaft for a SWB w/short tail th350? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Allright guys, I am looking to buy 68_c10_on_20's truck, but I have a brand new race built TH350 with a short shaft that I will need to use, and the one his DS is for is a long shaft. Does anyone have a DS for a SWB that ran a short tail TH350 for sale? All my stuff is from a LWB so I'm new to the SWB stuff.

I guess I hould have put this in the parts board huh, sorry. I would also like to get a coil rearend with 3.73 gears too if possible.

Might be a good time to upgrade to a 1-pc. driveline if funds allow. That is the nice thing about having a SWB (besides the good looks). You can put in a 1pc driveshaft and it won't be too long to balance.

Or call up a driveshaft shop and see if they can extend it a few inches.

Well the one he has is a one piecs already, so no upgrading, just a lateral swap and more money to talk my wife out of.

With a coil rear, stock height, short shaft TH350 and a small block in the proper location, the drive shaft will need to be 4 foot 10 inches.
That's what mine has in it.

No problem man.
Should have also said that mine is a stock one pc shaft, but it had a 305 V-6 and TH400 originally.
Not that any of that should matter.
