Re: After 17 years, it's coming home

Thanks for all the comments guys. This truck is very special to me as you can imagine. Seems like only yesterday, Dad and I were loading her up with tree trimmings and heading to the dump.
I sat on the passenger side and tears rolled down my cheek. All I could see was my Dad driving it and smiling. If that cab could only talk...
I realized that the license plates expired in August of 1995, the same month and year Dad died.
I can't wait to restore it to it's original glory and take one more cruise with my Dad.

That truck is like mine, 58 V8 3 sp. deluxe big window stepside. I think my truck was white originally. Glad it's home, I can tell you are too. Big smiles

Wow! I am moved by your story. I am very happy you shared this with us. Please keep the updates coming and dont forget to include photos. You also stated the tags expired in 95 which leads me to believe that there is a very good chance that truck was not driven after your dad passing. This was definitely meant to be this way. It's your turn to build memories with your son. Hopefuly he shares the same passion as you have. The truck looks awsome I would leave that paint alone it adds character. A noce set of wheels and polish the chrome.
