cpp's tubular control arm HELP PLEASE
hey everyone im just posting this too see if any one else has had the issue im having. so i purchase the cpp upper and lower control arms for my 78 gmc and after waiting like a month and a half i recieve them yay.......not so much. so i got the whole truck stripped down and cleaned and when i took my lower control arm off i noticed one of the aligning dowels was completely smooshed. i was like wtf so i searched the internet and found a guy that had the same issue and drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a 7 1/6 socket head cap screw. so great drilled out rivets throw in new hardware and go to install the lower control arm and it doesnt fit. so i start my measuring and turns out on the A-arm is 9" from centre of hole to the other... on the truck the locating pins are like 9 1/2" apart. so i guess my question is has anyone ever had this problem and if so how did you repair it??? any one who has done the conversion from stock to cpp A-arms ever come across this??????
thanks everybody for your time its much appreciated |
