Cleaner windows!
Just thought I'd share a little trick I discovered while driving around my last truck...
If any of you guys have hard water spots on your trucks you know how much of a pain in the ass they can be to clean. I had several large spots on the top of my sunroof that would just not go away. Finally I hear about a little trick some of the guys had been doing and it worked wonders. Steel wool. 0000 grade steel wool is soft enough that it won't scratch the glass, but it takes off all kinds of crap. I use it with a bit of rubbing compound, but I have heard that vinegar is another alternative. You won't believe how much nicer it makes your truck look even if you don't think the windows are that dirty! You can pick up the steel wool at almost every hardware store. I've even seen it at my local walmart. My fiance's parents even used it to clean their kitchen windows haha |

Re: Cleaner windows!
I have always used 0000 steel wool and Chrome Polish and it works great. Vinegar has never worked for me.

Re: Cleaner windows!
i use the windex vinegar. not many of us still have the old glass windshields, so for acid marks or hard water, steel wool is a bit harsh. a little clr works great for hard water marks and the white polishing compound from turtle wax works great or acid etching. 3m, mequires, and a lot of other companies, make a kit for polishing windshields thats great for taking out fine scratches and wind pits.
