79 k5 a good donor truck?

Well i just picked up a 4wd 79 k5 blazer with busted transfer case for $400. Mainly bought it to rob parts like the 5 nice 6lug rallye wheels. Figure that i can sell it or junk it for what i paid in the end. What else would swap over to my 2wd shortbed fleetside 65. I figure power steering, power brakes would be easy targets. I feel bad striping the blazer but i dont need another project truck.

Sounds to me like you got a good donor Blazer. Like you said it's a shame to junk one of those but, parts gotta come from somewhere. Between the brakes, power steering, rims, and sway bars you'll make up your money quickly.

I might be wrong, but I think the 2wd & 4wd steering boxes are different..the orientation of the shaft?

You can't use anything off of that truck. 4wd is way differnt Keep the wheels and put something else on and resell it or trade like you said. You need a 2wd truck and if it is a 5 lug don't worry about it as you can get 6 lug rotors.
