Roof lip/above windshield patch panel
So first off, new to the site. Looks like there is tons of great info on here.
I've done a bunch of searches and looked all over the place to see if anybody makes a patch panel for above the windshield for a 64-66 cab. I know they are available for 60-63, but I haven't really found an answer as to if that panel is the same on both style cabs. I actually need the inner part too, but that doesn't look as hard to fix as the outside. I know they make inner panels for the 67-72 style cabs, but not sure if that will work for my cab with a little modification? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. I know there is always the option of cutting the roof off a donor cab, but clean cabs aren't that plentiful in the midwest. I have a hard time believing nobody makes these panels since it seems like a very common problem area. |

Re: Roof lip/above windshield patch panel
The panel should be the same for 60-66,the difference will be in the A pillars.
That panel hasn't been available for that long, kinda tells me that an inner portion may be in the works T

Re: Roof lip/above windshield patch panel
I think there is a post/thread that talks about the difference between the 60-63 and the 64-66.
I would of thought they were the same also. But it appears there's a slight difference. The member was able to use the 60-63 one on his 64-66 with just a minor modification. If I find the post/thread, I'll post a link to it here. Welcome to the forums.

Re: Roof lip/above windshield patch panel
Thanks for the input guys. I've seen the other threads about this topic, but couldn't find a clear answer if the panel that is listed for 60-63 cab will work on the 64-66 cabs.
It sounds like it can be made to work, but is a little short? So if a guy bought 2 of these, it could be widened to fit. |

Re: Roof lip/above windshield patch panel
If a portion of your lip is still good, you might get away with just replacing the bad areas with the patch piece.

Re: Roof lip/above windshield patch panel
Mine is pretty soft all across. The ends might be alright. I would feel better replacing a majority of the entire panel.
I'll still have to try and figure something out for the inside panel too. Does anybody know if the inner panel for the 67-72 cabs will work on a 64-66 cab with some slight tweaking? |

Re: Roof lip/above windshield patch panel
That roof panel usually stays pretty rust free out here, and lots of these trucks still end up in wrecking yards. I would make an appeal to some of the yard goers in the Southwest to keep an eye out for ya. Nothing fits like original parts.

Bingo! Call him up and see what he'll do for ya. It's worth a shot anyway.
