How to install e.fan??
Hello everyone,
I have been trying to research the procedure on installing an electric fan on my 2002 silverado, but have not been lucky. My question is..... 1- Can I use the factory efan from a 05 silverado on my truck? 2- Will the efan have to be connected to the computer or will it pick up the signal from the temp. sensor and the AC relay? 3- What is your opinion about the flex-a-lite fans, and how much more does an efan increase in mpg? Your input is greatly appreciated, Thanks

Re: How to install e.fan??
1- Yes you can use the ones from an '05, but you would also need the 34" radiator. you can pick up a set of ls1 or lt1 fans for your current setup and will work fine.
2-wire it in with a pair of relays, 1 relay per fan. you can use your own temp sensor if you buy one, doesn't need to tie into the computer 3-flex-a-lite makes very good fans, expensive though. ls1/ lt1 fans can be had for $100.00 or less

Did you notice an increase in gas mileage? Any problems with electric fans with towing?

About 1 mpg highway, no difference city. Never had any problems towing. I didn't tow much, but had no problems when I did.

Re: How to install e.fan??
98-02 Camaro/Firebird with a LS1 engine. The older Camaro/Firebird with a LT1 efans will also work. I'm going to try to throw a "how to" together on this when I get time.

Re: How to install e.fan??
I just revisited this thread and wonder if you ever got around to the fan writeup? Thanks.
