87 Resto.

Just completed my 87 resto. Still have a few things to do but for the most part it is complete. Anyone know where I can purchase a set of original alum. bedrails with woodgrain inserts? Name: IMGP2439.jpg

Re: 87 Resto.

That's beautiful! I may be slightly biased, since it's the same color scheme as my 87' I'm restoring, but I'm sure other's will agree! Nice work!

Re: 87 Resto.

Thanks for the comps. The only thing I don't like is the wheel arch trim. I will be replacing with original trim. Good luck on yours.

Re: 87 Resto.

Is that an LMC grille? Did it install pretty easily? Thinking about getting one for my '87. Great looking truck, man.

Re: 87 Resto.

It is an LMC grill. It was a perfect fit. Only had to drill a hole int the lip of each parking light assy. to mount to the grill. Easy fit.

Re: 87 Resto.

Beautiful Truck, Man! I would just replace the trim rings with the original ones and not even add the bed rails, but to each his own. Either way that is a nice truck.

Floor mat is a 1 piece aftermarket that was in the truck when I bought it 11 years ago.

Re: 87 Resto.

How are those fender trim things attached? I have some on my truck that are just on by some tabs that are bent around the bottom of the fender. Not good attachment to me. Thought they looked cool for a while but I'm just going to switch back to the stock arch molding because I'm always afraid they are going to blow off every time I drive.

Re: 87 Resto.

The fender trim is attached by screws on the bottom side, the same as the original. I liked the was they looked when I first put them on but it didn't take laong and I wished I had gone back with the originals. I am taking these off and going back to the originals but it will also require replacing the 2" molding that butts up against the trim or there will be a ½" gap between the molding and the trim.
