Replaced the destroyed TH350 in my 50 with a good used one. Took her for a spin this afternoon, the transmission works as it should, shifts beautifully. I got lucky, when I cleaned off the grime (donor van had a serious oil leak) I found a rebuild shop name, new front and rear seals and very clean/no odor transmission fluid.

Glad that project is behind me, I'm too old to be crawling around on the concrete.

Almost finished my 3 month long 700r4 conversion on the Suburban. Just have to wire the lock up now.

Finally got started to work on Bouncy .
Got the old suspension front and rear out , replaced the rear spings and flip is done , the front is dissasembled gonna get new bushings and ball joints pressed in tomorrow night.
Will start another thread on how NOT to lower your truck everyone will get a kick out of the old parts I pulled out

I got a email from a real good guy after i had posted that i was looking for a 81-87 front end for my truck, after emailing each other for a few days
he told me i can have it for free!!!
At first i thought he was just playing but he was telling the truth :'(
so me my neighbor and my brother in law went to austin to get it
he helped us load it in and tie it down
gave me a extra hood and bumper
and we were on our way

I cant believe it thoo
there are still good people in this world
I will install it in the next 2 weeks

I ordered some carpet from stock interiors (36x72) to add along back of cab wall since all trucks with buckets came with that, plus mine had rub marks etc from the years. I cut it to fit then attached it using some 3" wide heavy duty velcro I got from Lowes. I got the velcro idea from my bedrug thats in the 2008 silverado and thats how it attaches. Pics arent great because the carpet is black but Im happy with the way it turned out seeing as my upholstery skills are novice at best. There is a long velcro strip along top, one long one under bump out/contour and 6 smaller strips along bottom metal.

In the future I may make a trim strip along top just for looks, but for now I'm gonna go with it like this.

I so share the burnt out feeling sometimes, but I finally finished painting my bed this morn. Looks really good now, I'm trying to stay motivated on this project.
Its almost halfway there now.

Finally finished a complete coat of primer on my FRANKENTRUCK!





That'll protect the metal for the long haul until I can manage to cover it with a finish coat of the factory metallic blue-green.

cut the turn downs off my truck was sick of the sound bouncing up and down under the truck and driving down my dirt road idling and dust flying up all over my clean truck! also it sounds way better just pointed out back before the axle ! but this is just short term i plan on running it all the way out back. took the truck for a little spin and here is a quick vid..

Replaced the fuel pump on the passengers side of my 87 V20. I'm a "lift the bed" proponent, but this time required cutting/grinding all but two of the bed bolts, so the time involved was sixes compared to dropping the tank. Also replaced the outer tie rod on the passenger side and set the toe close enough to get it drivable until I can get it aligned. Finally threw some "new"/used 285/75/16 on the old beast.

Installed a heat shield and new gaskets under carburator. Cut the lawn on the slope behind the house for the first time this summer, and wished I would have done it before it got waist high.

Pulled the front brakes off the 87 C6500, jacked all 4 out of the ground, put the rears on ramps, hit the rear calipers with a hammer, and it rolled! Been wanting to move it to mow the trees before they get bigger. Put a daughter in the cab (with the roll cage tubes from my Regal - she reported truck steered OK but the seating was cramped and smelly) and used my 4000# tractor to drag its 7000# all the way around the barn to its new resting spot next to my parts shed.

That inspired me so mutch I threw the chain on the 81 C2500 and dragged it through the field (it was pointed in a different direction and couldn't make the same trun as the big truck) to its new spot near the shed. Had the other daughter steer it, she was unhappy until she got to run over small trees and large thistles on the field loop. Little side note - 59K farm miles, believe it was washed 3x and waxed twice, no metal left below the tops of the rockers. The 2nd motor is still free after not running for 10 years. One of these days I'll get bored and throw on a carb and see if it'll run....

I had so much success that I hooked on the 84 chassis. Bad idea, 3 of 4 brakes locked up, much spinning and cursing and wheelies later, got it close to where I want it. Eventually I'll strip the frame and put it ON the C6500 to improve my parking room.

Burned up some trash wood, watched Nascar (Jeff Gordon just can't get it together this year, can he) then hung with the family and watched olympics.

Nothing on the truck but got the main wall of my workshop built and installed...

Changed the rear seal on the 700r and the o ring speedo cable. Found that I forgot an o ring on the speed sensor which created a nice little drip...The only true test will be to let the truck sit for a week or two and see what happens. Temp. hooked up my some power window regulators to test them, and they worked beautiful..Only problem was that I couldn't find a way to mount them...Real PIA..
