Some sheet metal info for 'Burb fans
I just came across this, and thought it helpful. Maybe others have see it before, but I hadn't. I apologize if it is a re-run.
Schott panels makes a quarter panel reapir section that if 53" long and 22" high. The part numbers are QPFS44L and R I found two stocking suppliers: American Muscle Car parts $135.00 + $46 shipping javascript:; and www.surplussupplyco.com there prices was $83.00 not sure on shipping. Looks like panel would fit from the door back to 1/2 way over wheel arch and approx 8" above lip at top of arch. Have not found the rear section with a good part number. I do know that years ago, Schott panels were decent parts, not sure as of recently. Hope this may help someone. Last edited by tincan1966; 07-31-2012 at 12:46 PM. Reason: added link |

Re: Some sheet metal info for 'Burb fans
I have mentioned the parts from AM Muscle on ebay, in another thread.
I have bought a front fender rear half from them last year, but have not got around to installing it yet. The project went on the back burner for now. Anyway, the part is made by Schott and seems to be of good quality. Thanks for the link to the other supplier. The prices from AM Muscle are a bit high, but I don't mind paying a little more for US made parts. But at the same time, if I can save some $$ on the same parts........

Re: Some sheet metal info for 'Burb fans
I thought I had seen a mention of them before, Captainfab, sorry to repeat.
I know years ago, Schott panels were US made and decent pieces, but have not heard of them in years. Used to be able to get a catalog and buy direct, but I couldn't get there when I searched. Kind of wished I'd seen this earlier, I could have really used that sized panel on the passenger side- I ended up making a panel from a door skin in order to fix all the damaged area. |
