Removing carpet spray glue from paint?

The P.O of my '74 used spray glue to hold down a piece of carpet to the floor. My truck is a Custom 10 and was supposed to have a rubber mat that went from the front of the seat to the firewall. Under the seats are nicely painted white (Body color).

How can I remove this glue without hurting the paint?

Try paint thinner. or gugone.

I've had success with WD-40 and 3M Adhesive Remover.

Yeah try soaking it with wd40.

Is "Liquid wrench" Close enough? I have a case of that stuff.

I would test it on a paint spot no one will see in case it eats the paint first.

Look for Super Clean in a purple bottle at your local parts store. Stuff is amazing.

3M adhesive remover wil do the trick

I had the same problem and used a gal of lacquer thinner. Cut it off pretty good. Just have plenty of rags if you have a large area. Left the paint in good shape. Test a small area, I think you will find it faster that most solvents.

i had to scrape most of mine
I tried a few things,but it was softer on a hot day
that scraper was the best for it
mine was baking/burning stinky on the hump

Wow luckily my floor is not as bad as yours! I can still see the paint pretty good.
