Re: FAQ: Shop Truck Door Logo Tutorial

From what i've seen you need. First add rust faded paint and run it, then paint some fake shop name?
Or restore it and let napa deliver parts in their rangers you call it.

Re: FAQ: Shop Truck Door Logo Tutorial

I like that! Looks good.

When I did our truck, I made a large 'proof', then cut out the letters. Then I took wax paper and laid strips of the large blue masking tape on it (slightly overlapping)... then I laid the proof on it and traced the letters, then cut them out... peeled off the wax paper and stuck it on the truck. Then I used spray paint and peeled off the tape when it was dry. We used a scotch brite pad to age it... where there were knicks, we used a flat head screw driver to scratch the new paint too...

Here is our's:

If anyone is interested, I do have a few close-ups.

Re: FAQ: Shop Truck Door Logo Tutorial

Did you sand the whole thing or just down the center of the letters? It almost looks like you did the whole thing, just focused more on the center.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but yeah, that's exactly what I did. I lightly sanded the whole area, and sanded more in the center of the letters. It actually looks better now than when I did it as it is actually weathering quickly since the letters wear sanded.
