Exhaust manifold bolt retainers?

On my '69 Pontiac the big blocks came with bolt retainer strips that you bent the tabs over the bolts to keep the from backing out. Picture below.

Should my '70 402 truck have these? I didn't when I took it apart, but I'm wondering if they were missing, or not equipped with them?

If so, anyone know the proper name or where to find them?

Thanks!
Dave

www.truckandcarshop.com carries them

They are called french locks. I do not believe they came on our trucks originally.

They were on my 69 small block when new. I've also seen them on SBC trucks in the junkyard. Not sure about big blocks.

Re: Exhaust manifold bolt retainers?

Thanks for the tip, I've never seen their site. Ordered a bunch of stuff I've not seen elsewhere. I ordered the locks and the plug heat shields, both of which I have on my 427. Stock or not, they look stock, and they're a nice touch.
