Mine looked like garbage, so I sprayed them with bedliner. The truck is about the get rebuilt , but 'til then this looks pretty good for $9. Pretty easy, figured I'd share.........

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
It looks like it came out like black dye. Did it leave or add any texture?

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
It does add a slight texture. Kind of like a grip-taped skateboard, with paint on it. Really, perfect for the door panels.

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
I wiped it with Acetone, then hit it with Scotchbrite....then Acetone again. The first cleaning with Acetone is so you don't grind the crud in with the Scothbrite.

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
Now why couldnt you do the same thing with a dash pad? Trim up the cracks, fill them in with some sort of plastic body filler or such, then spray with bed liner. Couldnt you then use a something like Plastikote with color to go over the bed liner?

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
@Motornut....I'm not sure about the temperature tolerances. I make it a habit to never go anywhere that the temp gets below freezing.....ever, no matter what

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
I used to you that stone chip gaurd stuff you would spray on the bottom half of you ext and down on the rockers panels when I built tweeters into the plastic pillars by the winshields. it gave a nice texture. I did the bedliner stuff on door panels before and in the heat it was very easy to scratch that stuff off

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
Looks good.
Just as an fyi for anyone else who wants to do this....the rustoleum is better for less texture. In my experience(which is many cans)the duplicolor spray bedliner is much more textured than the rustoleum.

Re: Bedliner on door panels...
I love spray on bedliner stuff. You can hide all sorts of flaws with that stuff. I figure if it can hide nasty flaws on the truck that good, It ought to be safe enough and worth the try to spray the wife with...
