Dash projects

I have five, sort of, dashes to get rid of. One I like, four not so much.

The one I like came out of my Blazer project a few years ago. It has a repop bezel that is not perfect (black paint is glossier in some areas than others), used gauges and lense, and a bad printed circuit board (needs to be replaced). It does have an old school looking Sun tach mounted in it. If I keep it I plan to do a better job of routing the wires through the tin because of sharp edges. Overall it looks pretty cool. Did not test it because the Blazer had a dead engine when I got it. It is boxed up and ready to go. Box weighs 10.9 lbs, is 22"x14.5"x13.5". I want $45.00 plus shipping. If you are interested please calculate the cost of shipping yourself.

Re: Dash projects

Next I have the four ugly projects.
#1 is a gauge dash it features:
cracked, no good lens; bezel that is worn but not cracked (only good for painting); gauge faces that have that faded, rusty look; printed circuit board that has delamination and that I wouldn't use; rusty outer tin.

#2 is a true parts only dash, it features:
no hardware; no lens; big guages look okay; small gauges are faded; printed circuit looks delaminated in spots but probably okay; bezel not cracked but would have to be painted; tins look okay but have surface rust

#3 is a dash I removed from a 68 C10, non gauge, features:
bezel, not cracked, needs painting; lens okay but could use polishing, rear tin, not bad but surface rust; printed circuit looks okay to me

#4 a dash I pulled from a 68 Suburban, features:
Bezel has small crack by a screw hole; lens is dusty and dull, printed circuit looks okay;tin is rusty; someone added two Stewart Warner gauges, gas and water temp., sending probe is still there for the water temp but some insulation is cracked. The SW gauges look like they might be old school but I am not an SW gauge expert.

I would like to sell these in a package deal so I only have to pack them once. The four dashes weigh 17.4 without any packaging materials. the box I would have to make should be about 28x14x24 and will likely push abut 8 lbs with padding materials.

Lets start with $40 for the set of four (not the first one with the tach) plus actual shipping.

Re: Dash projects

I'll take the first one with the old tach. Would you sell the last one with that one? (two sw gauges) if so, how much total shipped to 23112? thanks

Re: Dash projects

The one with the tach is completely boxed ready to go. The others aren't. Let me check to see how bad a difference there would be with shipping the two dashes in separate boxes.

Re: Dash projects

Possibly tape the two boxes together or put one inside the other....always cheaper for one box than two unless you are going overweight which won't happen here

I'll take the first one either way...

Re: Dash projects

Before I saw your reply, I unboxed the first dash and made a frankenbox with the two of them together. Double walled, styrofoam, bubblewrap. 17.5 lbs, 32x12x17. UPS wants just over $60 bucks! I don't know if there is a magic size or weight line that I crossed but that seems totally out of whack. I am probably overpacking because I have recieved so much damaged stuff in the past. Any ideas?

Re: Dash projects

Using those measurements/weight...I can have it picked up at your house by fedex for 42.34 total...still too high to make it worth it to me...sorry. Excellent deal...IMHO that first dash is an 80-100 dash easily and the two sw gauges are probably worth 20 ea to someone looking....
