4-link, tri 4-link which is better for air bags?

I building an 86 swb with fbss going to c-notch the frame don't want to lay frame but would like to know which setup to use and why

I prefer the triangulated 4-link, and feel it is cleaner looking since you don't have the panhard bar.

Thats what I wanted to do but needed to know if there would be any performance issues.i doe know that one needs a panhard or watts any others i should know?

triangulated 4 links usually sit higher in the frame and may keep the floor of your bed higher up. you also have to do the triangulated part on the inside of the frame rails. which may take up valuable real estate.

I used a parallel 4 link with my truck. I was able to keep the 4 link on the outside of the frame rails that way and wider is always better. as far as the panhard bar. if you are building a truck to lay frame.. no one is going to see it.

Good points Broey.... basically they all have their pro and cons. But, posting on here and doing the research is a great start. Either way you go, I think you can achieve your goal, since you are not wanting to lay frame. If you were, then I think the parallel would be better for the reasons Broey stated.

sits higher on the axle some times.. plus stays at a higher angle. so a normal notch in the bed wont work. usually have to raise the whole bed floor. instead of just a hump for the axle.





so instead of this.



you may have to do something like this.


either way is cool. just letting you know some of the things to expect.

I was hoping to do like the first pic, i want it to sit low on 22's but not lay with just a mild c-notch in the frame not through. will putting the inside links throw off pinion angle too much?

How low do you want to go? Do you want to cut the bed, or raise the floor? Those decisions will have an impact on what works best for you. If you want to get as low as possible with out cutting the bed, a parallel 4 link with a panhard bar is a bolt on deal.

You can run a triangulated 4 link to, but you won't be happy with the results as it tends to walk around due to minimal triangulation.

don't mind cutting into the bed, need the the frame at least 2 inches off the ground. I really like the idea of cutting just a relief circle for the pumpkin. just want to know the best route

Whats this look like to you? Low enough, or you want it lower? This is uncut with an ART 4 link. The front could go lower if it didn't have the stops set so it will roll when aired out.

What size tires?
When you say uncut frame and/or bed?
whats you clearance from the ground?
I would like a tad lower but have yet to put it in stone so i'm open. how tall is it next to you?

The wheels are 20s and tires are 245/40 and 295/40's. The front could go lower, but it has stock fender liners. Take them out or mod them, remove the stops and get another 1-2" .The rear will go about 3/4-1" lower before it hits the bed.
