I need Help guys

I dont like to drive my truck because every time i drive it i cant go pass 45mph because if i do my truck moves to the side and sometimes i hear like a clicking noise in the front left side. Have any of you guys had this problem before?

ps.Do aftermarket lower, upper control arms, etc. makes handling difference?

What do you mean by goes to the side? If it is pulling it needs an alignment but if it is bouncing like mine you should check the control arm bushings or maybe your rotors are warped. My bushing are gone and if I try to brake going faster than 35 I start bouncing all over the place. This can also warp your rotors over time.

Re: I need Help guys

Open the hood and have someone move the steering wheel back and forth. If it's the rag joint or the steering box you will see it.

Re: I need Help guys

It sounds to me you have a front tire either out of balance or slipped belt exaderated by bad shocks.

Re: I need Help guys

I agree with jknight on this one sounds like its an unbalanced tire on one side. I have experienced this so bad that I thought that I was going to break my thumbs bc the steering wheel was bouncing so much.

Re: I need Help guys

Jack it up and spin the front tires. Watch the tread of the tire for movement which would indicate seperated belts. Also by hand move the tire in and out at the top and bottom to check for loose wheel bearings.

Re: I need Help guys

I would check the tires first. Long story short if the belts separated and your on the way to the tire shop a tire will blow out, thats my luck anyways. If you went near or over 45 it would jump bad.

Re: I need Help guys

You have a laundry list of things to check already, but add the wheel adapters to that list too.

Re: I need Help guys

What kind of wheel adapters did you get? I know they make 2 different kinds. The best would be to have the hubcentric wheel adapters because they align themselves right off of your hub, this way it keeps your new lug pattern centered. The other type of wheel adapters dont rest on the hub and are aligned by you when you tighten the bolts down. Ive had the same problem, not on my square but on a car i had at one point. The wheel adapter moved the lug pattern from the wheel a couple millimeters off from the stock position because i didnt have the hub centeric type and at 45mph the car was nearly gunning to the right and hopping like a stagecoach, scared the **** out of me to say the least. Used the hubcentric wheel adapters and fixed everything. Dont know if this helps, just my 2 cents.
