cruise control ideas

Im looking for some inventive ways of putting cruise on a 71 C10. Im gonna be running a take out LS motor and tranny so it will have cruise, but I don't like the big ugly turn signal arm that activates cruise on my van tilt. So I'll be swapping it out for a standard arm. Any ideas for hiding cruise but not making it a pain to use??

Re: cruise control ideas

If your going with an LS, would you be going DBW or DBC? either one you can contact Ls1nova on ls1tech.com and he can help you with it. also I got a smaller ( van, slide switch) from him and got mine hooked up with his help. I have a DBC ls motor.

Re: cruise control ideas

The switch on the arm has an on/off and 2 momentarys with 4 wires. (ignition power in, set, resume, and cruise power out) On my '83 with TPI I made a small box with a 2' harness and 2 toggle switches; a SPST and a SPDT momentary. I got the dash label from a Peterbilt that says on/off on 1 side and set/resume on the other. I put a 4 pin Weatherpack connector on the dash harness. Whenever I want to use it, I just plug it in and lay it on the seat. When not in use it stores in the glovebox and the plug can hide out of sight.
