72 Chevy C/20
Bought this truck a month ago and haven't stopped the project, I am planning to go the rat rod route so any negative/ignorant comments about that will not be acknowledged, I'm 19 and don't have thousands of dollars to give to shops to build "MY" truck. I would much rather build it with my hands, time, and effort. I'm currently looking for white wall or white letter out tires for 16" rims (Like American Classics, or Cooper Cobras), please let me know if you have a set
Rebuilt 350, Corvette lower end, 327 heads, Edel. Performer EPS Manifold w/ 1406 600cfm carb, MSD Ignition System. Long water pump w/ proform alternator. just ran dual exhaust (eliminated the collectors) dumped out the side, 3" tips with glasspacks and h-pipe. picked up an all aluminum radiator, with stainless steel hoses, edelbrock tall valve covers, Nitro Drop2 Shocks, etc... just getting warmed up. |

Thats a good start. dont think you will get any negitve comments on the rat rod build. its a look that is popular. building it yourself is always great too. you learn alot and can say "i did this". make a soild driver with a cool flat black paint job and you will have a coo truck.

The restored to new trucks are great but all look the same. The rat trucks all look different. Keep up the good work.

to the forums and from Ohio. on your new truck. You will find we like all sorts of trucks on these forums and the best thing you can do is build the truck the way you want to build it. You will get plenty of support here. Our trucks look good no matter the paint job, the shoes, or what else one does to their truck Keop up updated

yup, carmichael is right across the way, thanks dude, your 67 looked bad ass! too bad you had to sell it, but i have a feeling you'll be getting another one in the future...
when I was 15 I got a 1971 Chevy C20 Longhorn Edition, never put it to it's full potential, sold it and got a Cadillac (which i loved to death), but here I was 4 years later itching to get another old truck, and here I am building it lol. |

Thanks, yours is too! I miss it like crazy but unfortunately it had to be done. I'm hoping to get another one soon, I've got the itch again bad. As soon as the problems on my DD are fixed I'll be back in the market for one. We just can't seem to stay away from these trucks, huh?
One of the many things I love about these old trucks is whether you are going all out and fully restoring one or on a small budget, they always look bad a**!

Ok, so far i got the new fenders put on, and have the engine back together (it always seems the motor mount brackets never line up when you go to put your motor back in, took forever!) after 2 weeks and some looking around I got a 69 front bumper, and found a chrome rear bumper for $5, cant pass that up!, i got my gauges put in, but im losing power from my battery, and im pretty sure its because of the stock voltage regulator, i read somewhere that new alternators have internal regulators, so what should i do? just unplug the stock one? any ideas

Also ran into a shock problem, ordered these Nitro Drop 2 shocks from Belltech, but my shock bolts dont fit, i went to the auto part store and they only had one size which also was too thick, any suggestions?
